Piers shared a photo on Instagram of him at The Royal Oak in Church Road, Newick, near Lewes.
He captioned the post: “Cheers haters!”
The caption comes after Piers gave a statement following the news of Prince Harry’s settlement with The Mirror Group around alleged phone hacking.

The Duke of Sussex was given more “substantial” damages for the phone hacking case on Friday, which was dealt with in court last year.
Piers was the editor of The Mirror at the time when these illegal practices were found to have been “widespread”.
Despite getting some hate online, Piers seemed unfazed as he headed down to the county for the weekend.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter spent a large part of his childhood in Sussex.
He still owns a house in Newick and often visits the pub when he returns, which is often during festive periods.
It is believed a number of his family members still live in the county, including his mum.
In his recent interview with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Piers spoke about how his mum was left in an A&E corridor for nearly seven hours at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
