'A sea of Adidas and Fred Perry' - Miles Kane smashes it in Brighton - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

He’s also lost none of his cheeky charm.

I first saw Miles with a group of mates at Cornwall’s Boardmasters festival in 2012. He wore a zebra-print shirt and white jeans. We, as fresh-eyed teenagers, thought he was the coolest thing in the world.

Now, I’m almost 30. Nothing has changed.

Miles’s show at Concorde 2 in Brighton has to have attracted the highest concentration of Adidas trainers of any event in recent history. The place was awash with Fred Perry polos and Tacchini jackets.

It was absolutely packed out, the roof was very nearly torn off at one point. A completely wild night of all-out rock and roll anthems.

Miles played a stellar set of new numbers. Come Undone from his newest record will go on to become an indie anthem, I’m sure, and sounded right at home in the sweaty mess at Concorde 2.

But it’s the early-years Miles I love and came to see. Better Than That soundtracked my youth, so it was a real moment hearing that again last night.

Miles Kane is a true rock ‘n’ roller. The last of a dying breed? Perhaps. But my oh my, is he keeping the brand alive.

If you can make it to any of the remaining dates of his UK tour, I’d highly recommend it.
