The News Shopper has been made aware of the claims regarding McDonald’s restaurant in Spital Street.
A mum, who wishes to be kept anonymous, claimed her son and three friends were asked to leave after purchasing food at the restaurant.
She explained: “I’ve seen a lot on local social media about under-18-year-olds not being allowed to eat the food they have bought in the restaurant.
“They are being asked to leave once they have purchased. Having not being told about this before buying.
“This happened to my 13-year-old son today and his three friends when they went in for lunch. This is unfair.”
We asked McDonald’s if it was able to confirm these claims – but a spokesperson denied that any restrictions on young people were in place.
Another person, who commented anonymously on a Dartford Community group on January 31, said they saw with their “own two eyes” that teens who were “peacefully” ordering being kicked out.
They said: “I’ve seen a lot of posts about McDonald’s being 18+. I’ve seen this with my own two eyes twice now.
“I understand the security guards being fussy about big groups of teens, but I saw two teens, peacefully ordering barely talking, being kicked out?
“It’s ridiculous. No other McDonalds does this. why is Dartford different?”
“It’s not quirky, it’s not cute. But also, if it’s 18+ why are kids still allowed to eat in there”?
The post added that anti-social behaviour “is a joke” and questioned why the teens were kicked out before even offending.
It continued: “Sure kick them out if they’re being loud as hell and already displaying antisocial behaviour.
“But two kids? It’s ridiculous again! So dumb. Is there any other reason other than big groups of teens being annoying?
“What are two teens going to do? Rob their big Macs while they’re peacefully sitting down and eating?”
