Bromley Beer Festival cancelled in 2024 due to lack of volunteers - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

The Bromley Beer Festival is an event run by volunteers at The Friends Of Whitehall Recreation Ground and is held annually at Whitehall Recreation Ground, Southlands Road, in Bromley.

Organisers announced on Friday (February 2) on Facebook that Bromley Beer Festival will be having a “fallow year” in 2024, due to the “lack of volunteers organising and running the festival”, and the “added expenses of the event verses the profits”.

“We need to rethink the way we do this”, event organisers added.

The post has received more than 30 responses from members of the public, with many offering their condolences and labelling it as a “shame”.

In response to a Facebook comment, event organisers say that hosting the festival in 2024 is not a “viable option” due to the reduced committee and the efforts behind raising the money.

Last year, the family-friendly event saw music acts such as The Heat, No Hat for Jo, The Dustsheet Band and Georgie Blyth DJ take to the stage.

A fallow year in the context of festivals typically refers to a year when a particular festival does not take place.
