Refurbishment at the 216-year-old theatre in New Road, Brighton, has been taking place since early last year, including upgrades to electrics, wi-fi and pipework in the building.
In the latest work, which took place over the last three weeks, the Grade II* theatre has had chairs in the stalls replaced and decor throughout the auditorium and foyer revamped, including walls, paintwork and carpets.
Josh Brown, manager of the Theatre Royal, said: “We are delighted to reopen our doors to audiences after being closed for three weeks of internal building works.
“Our stall seating has been replaced to increase accessible seating options and comfort for all visiting patrons, alongside the restoration of the decor throughout the auditorium, stalls and Royal Circle foyers, including the carpets, walls and paintwork.
“We hope our customers will be as excited about these upgrades as we are.”
