A major emergency response was mounted after a blaze erupted at a detached house, with 25 firefighters rushing to the scene.
Six fire engines were sent to the property in Hillcrest Road, Saltwood, near Hythe just before 4pm yesterday.
Crews discovered smoke coming from the home and set about tackling the flames.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “A positive pressure ventilation fan was set up to drive smoke and fumes from the property, while a height vehicle platform was used to remove roof tiles and allow access to the roof space.
“There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.”
