Frazier Furlong, 27, also tried to break into properties across Worthing and sold an Xbox he stole from Currys to a pawn shop.

Furlong, of no fixed address, admitted a total of 16 offences over the space of 12 days between October 28 and November 8.

Sussex Police Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs said: “Furlong caused a huge amount of distress to his victims and committed a number of unacceptable crimes in a short time frame.

“This is an excellent result and a huge credit to the team for securing the charges which has led to this sentence.”

On October 28 Furlong began his crime spree by unsuccessfully trying to break into a property in Poulters Lane in Worthing before smashing a TV and a car parked at another house in Offington Drive.

After being arrested and taken to Worthing Custody Centre he then assaulted a police officer.

Just five days later on November 2, Furlong stole £100 worth of alcohol after breaking in to Thieves Kitchen in Warwick Street in Worthing. He also broke in to the Cow and Oak pub in Brighton Road on the same day.

Later that day he smashed a car window and proceeded to resist arrest.

On November 8, Furlong stole an Xbox games console from Currys in Downlands Retail Park, Worthing.

The serial offender went on to fraudulently sell the console to Worthing Cash Centre. Shortly after he smashed the windows of Whibley’s Jewellers in Warwick Road and Little Shop of Jules in Brighton Road.

When arrested, Furlong assaulted another police officer and resisted arrest. He was also found in possession of cocaine.

Furlong pleaded guilty to 16 separate offences including burglary, theft, fraud and criminal damage at Crawley Magistrates Court on January 8.

He was sentenced to two years in prison.
