An account with the handle @TITPofficial posted on X, previously known as Twitter, on Sunday evening, teasing the return of the popular music festival.
The post said: “Guess who’s back #Tinthepark2026”.
The post quickly gained millions of views as fans across the country got excited.
But, STV News reported that a spokesperson for DF Concerts and Events confirmed that the account was fake and was originally created under the handle @tinthepark2026.
The ‘fake’ account has since been deleted.
T in the Park was launched back in 1994 by DF Concerts in partnership with Tennant’s lager.
The festival ended after its final year in 2016.
