Brighton and Hove City Council revoked guest permits given to residents in zones B and G over concerns they were being sold to football fans on match days.
However many people in those areas said they were not informed of the consultation process where they could have voiced their concerns before the decision was made.
“We are going to hold a number of meetings to properly explore the issue and hear residents’ views on the issue of matchday parking,” said councillor Trevor Muten, chairman of the city council’s transport and sustainability committee.
“The council can then consider whether a revised scheme is needed which might include changes to how visitor parking is handled.
“We are also exploring the related issue of residents who park their commercial vehicles in these zones.

“We realise some people used their guest permits for these vehicles on match days and are discussing with officers whether there may be a way to address this issue.”
Cllr Muten said only guest permits have been discontinued. Residents can still apply for as many free residents’ permits as they need.
A date for the consultations is yet to be confirmed.
