Shoppers hit Glasgow city centre for New Year sales

Stores re-opened and the streets were busy with bargain hunters checking out the offers in the sales.

Buchanan Street, Sauchiehall Street, Argyle Street and the three shopping centres, St Enoch Centre, Princes Square and Buchanan Galleries were busy with people.

Judging by the number of people carrying multiple shopping bags the stores were doing a brisk trade.

The sales signs were in the windows hoping to lure people in and the Glasgow customers were checking out what deals were to be had.
