The Environment Agency has warned that flooding is expected in several areas and that properties are at risk.
A spokesman said: “Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions. Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have.”
A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office which encompasses the whole county and is in place between 8am and 9pm today.

The Environment Agency has issued the following warnings – which are more urgent than alerts:
Flood warning area: River Ouse at Barcombe Mills, including the Anchor Gates.
- Lodsbridge to Shopham Bridge on the Western Rother
Flood warning area: The Western Rother from Lodsbridge to Shopham Bridge, including Lodsbridge at Selham, Coultershaw Bridge, and Shopham Bridge.
- Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury on the River Adur
Flood warning area: Mock Bridge to Betley Bridge, near Shermanbury on the River Adur.
There are also 18 flood alerts in place.
An alert means flooding is possible and people should be prepared.
The Environment Agency advised: “Monitor local water levels and weather conditions, avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.”
