On November 19, at 1.30pm, Kent Police received reports of an incident on Dartford High Street.
Officers attending seized an axe and arrested a 33-year-old man who is alleged to have assaulted three officers.
Matthew Howes, of Huntley Avenue, Northfleet, was later charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on November 21.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A suspect is to appear in court charged with multiple offences following a disturbance involving an axe in Dartford.
“At 1.30pm on Sunday 19 November 2023, Kent Police was called to a report that a man was involved in an altercation in the High Street.
“Officers attended the scene where a suspect was stopped for the purpose of a search. The man was arrested after he is alleged to have assaulted three officers. The constables also seized an axe and he was taken into custody.
“Matthew Howes, of Huntley Avenue, Northfleet was later charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
“Mr Howes, aged 33, was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21 November.
