On Sunday, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service welcomed dozens of families to its National Headquarters in Cambuslang for a day of festive fun.
Greg Hastie, wellbeing practitioner with the SFRS, said: “Our first-ever family Santa Dash proved to be a huge hit with more than 200 people braving the wind and rain to raise funds for The Firefighters Charity.
“Santa Suit-clad runners (and walkers) completed a route around our National Training Centre and enjoyed a host of family activities.”
Photographs by Gordan Curran reveal a host of merry characters taking part in the festivities, from the Grinch and the Gingerbread Man to a T-Rex and a Christmas tree.
Star Wars characters, elves and dozens of Santas were also spotted pounding the pavement.
The Firefighters Charity helps all serving and retired members of the UK’s fire family to live healthier and happier lives.
Greg added: “In addition to raising funds for the charity we are looking to support mental wellbeing during the festive season.”
Elsewhere in the country, the Campbelltown Fire Station and the SFRS Operations Control Team hosted their own fundraising events to support the cause.
