Flight LS168 was travelling from Lanzarote to Glasgow on Friday evening when the crew issued a message to air traffic control to be given priority to land at Glasgow Airport.
This was due to a medical episode involving a passenger on board.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “The crew on flight LS168 requested priority landing due to a customer requiring medical attention.”
The following morning, flight LS161 departed Glasgow Airport for Geneva in Switzerland.
However, a fault occurred with one of the ovens on board and this resulted in smoke in the aircraft.
The flight had to return to Glasgow and was deboarded, with passengers being moved to a replacement aircraft.
A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that flight LS161 followed procedure and returned to Glasgow Airport after a minor fault with the oven in the forward galley created some smoke.
“The aircraft landed safely and customers continued their journey to Geneva on a replacement aircraft.”
