Businesses, volunteers and more than 20 councillors took part in the City Centre Big Clean last Saturday (November 25), peeling off stickers, washing away graffiti and repainting bins.
They were joined by Cityclean operatives and focused on the area around Brighton Station, Queens Road, West Street, New Road, Jubilee Street and St James’s Street, all in Brighton.

Councillor Tim Rowkins, chairman of the city environment, South Downs and the sea committee, said: “We scrubbed, scraped and painted to create a more positive and attractive environment for residents and businesses in the city, and for visitors when they get off the train and explore our beautiful city.”
Residents, business owners, Tidy Up Team members and students from Bhasvic also joined in.
“It was fantastic to see so many volunteers, businesses and Cityclean operatives join us on the day and I’d like to thank them for their incredible hard work and commitment,” said Cllr Rowkins.
