The 85-year-old will be bringing Napoleon to the big screen, detailing the rise and fall of the French emperor.
At 23 select Cineworld venues, including Brighton and Crawley, the film will be shown in the ScreenX format.
This encompasses a 270-degree screen supported by up to 12 additional projectors that extend the film out onto the side of the screening room.
Cineworld says this will help in “creating an immersive experience that surrounds you in your seat”.
Discussing the film, Cineworld said: “In a directorial first for Scott, Napoleon will mark his first foray into the revolutionary cinematic format, where 270-degree projection creates panoramic viewing.
“The wraparound screen transports cinema-goers into Napoleon’s relentless journey to power in a state-of-the-art atmospheric experience only at Cineworld cinemas.
“With the film extended beyond peripheral vision, viewers feel even closer to the brutality on the battlefield and the vast opulence and grandeur of the first French Empire.”
Sussex was also used as a filming location for Napoleon, with Petworth House used for some scenes.
